About Heidelberg Automotive Repairs
The Flockhart Family is synonymous in the automotive business dating back 65 years in Heidelberg, with Bill Flockhart opening his “Modern” Caltex Service Station on Lower Heidelberg Road in 1953, one of the very first service stations in the area.
Owner of Heidelberg Automotive Repairs; Ross Flockhart has just loved cars since a very early age, learning to drive tin pedal cars at Orient Place Kindergarten in Heidelberg, then after school jobs and Saturday mornings with his father, Bill, at the family service station.
Ross says he didn’t play sport after school, he filled up oil bottles, served petrol, fixed punctures, and watched and listened to the old blokes working for his father, taking in as much knowledge as he could gather. On Saturday afternoons, his dad would be painting the office or cleaning, Ross would be honing his skills driving the yellow FJ Holden workshop utility around the driveway area after closing time.
